The Foundation for the development of the culture of the Pacific: PACIFICARTE , is a foundation created in 2005, whose mission is to promote the integral development of the communities of practitioners of the different musical manifestations of the region.
PACIFICARTE is based on a model of care that he sees in art, a tool for social reparation and a life project. Among its objectives is to promote local development processes through culture, especially marimba music and traditional songs from the Colombian South Pacific.
Training
This line of action is developed from the ESCUELA MUSICAL DEL PACíFICO School for Work and Human Development that offers the career of Labor Technician in Music, in addition to free courses for amateurs.
Investigation
PACIFICARTE coordinates the Red Formadores Musicales del Pacífico Sur Colombiano, which is an association of master musicians and dancers dedicated to the formation and formation of musical and dance groups in the South Pacific, with whom they constantly carry out research tasks for preservation and innovation.
Circulation
We are working on the approach to cultural industries from the ancestral manifestations combining innovation and tradition.
Management
In this line of action, inter-institutional agreements are developed to carry out processes inherent to what the foundation does, this is how we articulate actions of cultural public policies with the Ministry of Culture, Governors, Mayors, Community Councils, NGOs.
